“I am so grateful to have Tanya Holthus as my strongest supporter, my leading advocate, my biggest cheerleader, my pillar of encouragement, and my life long guide. I have been working with Tanya since 2015, and she has truly been my life coach. The dedication she has with helping me reach my goals is not common place in society anymore. I have never had a provider go out of their way as much as she does with support. She has gone to bat for me on so many occasions. She proactively and aspires to do what is needed, whether it is collaborating with my other providers, staying in contact with my mom when I was hospitalized and couldn’t speak for myself, and even holding my meeting time for all the years I had to come and go due to hospitalization. She provides a space where when I am there with her, it’s like I’m all that matters and I know that whatever support I need, she is able to find a way to give that. When things are really difficult or there is so much to do, I feel like Tanya takes some of that weight off me and “holds it” for me, so I don’t get overwhelmed. I have learned so many skills from her and I always feel better after her help. She has cheered as loud as me when I have overcome obstacles, the biggest of which was becoming independent again. Getting my own apartment again, back into the work force, opening up and becoming more comfortable with whom I am. She has done her own research on her own time to help me with things. I have never had a provider that shows such kindness, dedication, compassion, willingness, and such an eagerness to be a part of my journey. I would not be where I am today without Tanya. Having someone in my life like Tanya, who provided that gentle nudging and support, is the reason I was able to succeed. I love the excitement she genuinely shows and shares when we are working on goals. Tanya does not just “talk-the-talk,” she “walks-the-walk.” I am still astounded that I am where I am at today, I have many times said, “It wasn’t in the cards for me to get better.” Tanya’s support and guidance with me through exploring who I am, faith, friends, work, housing, school, RN license, collaborating with others in my life and on my team, are just a few examples of the extraordinary help she has provided me which has allowed me to live and enjoy living in this life. Tanya is my other oar.”
